Grand Opening!!!

Greetings!!!!

It's taken some hard work and over a year to build up the courage to be ready, but it's official... It's time for the Grand Opening of my new shop on Etsy.com, Eclectic Oasis! As you can see below, I've been doing some last minute tweaking. Not glamorous, but necessary.

Stop by to visit me and add what you like, as one of your favorites! If you choose to buy something feel free to contact me with any questions by email at eclecticoasisart@aol.com or on Etsy.com if you have an account.

More posts to follow soon about the art that I have featured in the shop! Thanks!

Peace!

New Editions to the Family

Happy Post Independance Day!

I hope everyone had a great one. Me and Beloved were going to go to downtown Atlanta, but we didn't feel like fighting major traffic. I'm kinda glad we didn't go because we would've taken and hour trip just to see a 20 min show! Whatever happened to the shows that were 30 min to 1 hr? Next year we are planning to go up to NYC to visit with family and to see the fireworks show that Macy's does every year. It looks amazing on tv, so it should be pretty awesome in person!

Moving on.. These little cuties are the new kittens of the stray that lives on our patio. You can't really see their faces, but they are SOOOO adorable!!! There are three of them if you can't tell, one orange and two white ones.

In a couple of weeks we are planning to adopt one and bring him/her into live with us. Of course it will need to get its shots and everything, but after that, it should be all good. This will be my first real pet, and I'm geeked! I mean.. I have fish and everything right now, but you can't cuddle and pick up fish, ya know? Well.... I guess you could, but ew.. lol. It's rather strange to think about how I used to hate cats and now I'm thinking of bringing one into my house. I guess people really do change.

*><*Update on the painting*><* I did decide to go with the deep purple and it's looking great so far. I can see now that it's gonna take quite a while to finish this, because there is a lot of detail and small spaces that I have to paint within. I will have picture updates soon though.

Alright kiddies I'm calling it a night. Ciao!

Almost done!!

Hello All,

I am totally geeked at the fact that I am almost finished with my painting, yay! Waaaaay back a few months ago I posted another thread showing the begining stages of this. Anyways, if you can't tell these are 3 separate canvas to make one picture of this woman in peaceful thought.

I've gotten 'rave reviews' so far and all I mostly have left to do is paint the hair a nice deep purple or fusha.. I havent decided yet.. I will more than likely do the deep purple though. Of course I gotta touch up the face and smooth out some places and then it will be ready to sell. You can tell me what you think if you like good or bad. Well its time to paint while I'm in the mood. Ciao!

New Joy

I was riding around downtown and saw this awesome sculpture of MLK Jr. Its stuff like this that you can see around your town that makes the day seem a little bit nicer. This just makes me wanna travel around town and find all the great artwork or things that make you smile and be amused.

Speaking of art, I've started a new project. I'm doing a triptych (a set of three panels or compartments side by side, bearing pictures, carvings, or the like). I'm in the starting stages right now, so you may not be able to tell very well what everything is, but I will explain. Its basically 3 pieces of a woman looking satisfied or content, or at least in my mind she does.

This first one is of the top part of the head and you can only see the eyes, nose and some of the hair.

The second of shows the most of all three b/c you can see most of the nose, the lips and the chin.

And finally the third just features the woman's neck and the flip and curl in her hair. Each part of the hair that is shown on each painting has a different design and texture. If you wanna get all interpretive with it then I guess I would describe it as, 'The different designs in the hair represent the the different moods or thoughts of happiness and joy that she is pondering and enjoying and the lime green represents that calm aura that surrounds her.' So ta-da, there ya go.
I'll be back with an update sometime in the near future.
Ciao!

New Projects

What's up folks.
This is my new soon to be painting. I drew this a few years back and now I've been requested to make it into a glorious piece of artwork. I'm excited to start on it, but I'm also quite apprehensive about it as well. It's gonna be a big project and it's gonna take quite a long time to finish it because of all the detail work. If you can't tell what it is, there is a very large sun with clouds swirling around in the sky and then there are tall buildings or skyscrapers at the bottom.

I currently have to wait to start this project due to lack of supplies. :( The only thing I really need is the canvas. I would really like to do it on 24 x 36, but that will depend on the person who I'm doing the painting for. In the mean time I will probably work on a different project. I know that I'll have to make myself do it, because I always put other things I need to do first. Laundry.. cleaning the kitchen... consoling friends... spending time with my Beloved... paying bills... I'll just have to fit it in when I'm watching tv or something. Just maybe I'll start something right now after I finish this post! :) I guess you will find out later now won't you.
