I hope everyone has had a great start to their week! I've just been busy crocheting up a storm over the weekend and enjoying the crisp air and sunshine. I've gotten a request to make a pink and gray baby blanket as well as some booties and a hat to match. I've started with the blanket, because it takes the longest to do.

It's gonna be a sweet little blanket! Probably the most favorite thing I've made. So on with the show!  Last week, I shared with you some of my goals for October as a fresh start to weekly wishes, so let's start fresh with wishes for this week as well.

This Weeks Wishes

  • With my hand willing, I really want to work on the baby blanket a little bit everyday. More than likely I'll get most of the work done while I'm on break at work. I'm totally that chick that crochets in the car. ;o) Hmm... maybe I'll pick up an audio book from the library to enhance the fun.
  • I have finally written down a schedule for meals and prepping and I'm going to try really hard to stick to it. I've been wanting to do this for a while now and have just been dragging my ass! Writing it all down and having a visual helps me stay focused, so at least half the battle is done. :)
  • I really want to exercise at least four times this week. I've come to realize that even though I don't like to exercise, my body does... It's a win-win really.. I feel good about myself and my body stops aching from inactivity. Haazaa!

Three is generally my limit.. It is only a week after all! :o)  So what have you been up to? What are your goals for this week?

Ciao!

Sunday's Outing..

Greetings All!

Happy Sunday! It's been a chilly, but beautiful weekend here in Atlanta. I actually broke out my sweater and (one of many) scarves for my outings. :) I love getting out and walking around in the chilly air. There's just something festive in the air when it starts to becoming layering season! Next weekend for our next outing we may go to the Georgia State Fair. Good times. :) Here's what I got into today...

We had a late start getting out for the day and so we decided to have a nice brunch at Urban Cannibals in East Atlanta. Their 'samiches' are phenomenal! The fact that they call their sandwiches, 'samiches' alone let's me know that it's a great place to eat.. It's a fun and rustic atmosphere as well. You can get a samich and pick up general store items too!

Wanting to stay out in the sunshine, The Boo & I took a walk down the street to the vintage home furnishing store called Kaboodle.  They have a lot of fun re-purposed items like coffee tables, dining tables, and kitchen gadgets. I even saw the exact kind of sewing machine that my mother has and still uses to this day!

Even saw this creepy, but kool sculpture at an old pay phone place. The face has three mouths and seven eyes, and what looks like hair (or tongues) all around it's face. I dunno what's supposed to be going on here or what it means, but it's mosdef an attention grabber!

So what did you do with yourself today? Did you go on any adventures for the weekend?

Ciao!

Fall Festival Fashion

Fall Festival Fashion

Fall Festival Fashion by ptyfashvic featuring a zipper wallet

Greetings All!

It's FRIDAAAAAAY!!! Can we all just do a little happy dance for a minute? I'm especially excited because I'm going kick off the weekend with a bang! I'll be going to the Atlanta Cheese Festival being held at Botanical Gardens!! There's beer.. There's cheese.. There's wine.. And a beautiful setting to boot.. You can't really beat that can you?

Anyway, if I had it my way this is what I'd wear to said soirée. I'd be sparkly, high on heels, Smokey eyed, and fabulous. Actually I won't be too far off from that description except for the heels. I have no patience for hurting toes and sore feet anymore. However, I will have on some really cute flats. Besides the Cheese Festival, I also want to do some apple picking and finally go to a corn maze! I've heard it's great fun. :)

 So what do you have planned for Fall activities?

October Goals & Stuff!

Greetings!
I thought I would do something different for Weekly Wishes and start out with monthly goals! It’s been a total minute since I’ve done any Wishes and so, let’s wipe the slate clean and start anew with things to accomplish this month and then start back in to Weekly Wishes.  Just like in the Spring, I feel a need to start things fresh in the Fall. Maybe fresh isn’t the right word? I think I mean more so restore. For me it’s a time to restore balance into my life and daily routines.  Let’s make some monthly goals!

Wanna join in? Check out The Nectar Collective and add a link to your blog!

1.      Clean out my closet and bookshelf ~ I just feel like I have too much stuff and need to purge. There are plenty of clothes that I don’t want or can’t fit that just need to go to Goodwill. (I just can’t bare to throw them away and who has time to wait for stuff to sell on eBay?) As far as books go, my shelves are overflowing and I don’t like it. I’m that person that believes that everything has a place and it should go in it. (Ideally anyway.. ha!) So time to let go of some books.

2.  Find yummy scrumdiddlyumptious recipes and then actually cook them ~ I haven’t cooked on a consistent basis in a while now (Oh, the horror!) and now I feel like it’s time to get back at it. I really want to cook twice a week and then eat out maybe just on the weekends. How often do you cook?
3.  Do some Major Etsy Maintenance ~ I want to add at least 4 new items to the shop, get my EtsyFu going, and retake some pictures on a couple of items. I also have a new project to start on and finish by January. So it’s time to get cracking!

4.   Go to a Coding Meetup ~ Classes are now done and it’s time for the next big step in my training. I’ve joined a Ruby on Rails group with only women and I think it’ll be a nice change and a refreshing experience to kinda go at my own pace. From the reviews I’ve seen, new members really like going and people are friendly. I just gotta be brave and get on out there and go! Wish me luck!

Well now, I have one goal for each week this month. I think that should suffice! J What have you been up to? What are your goals for this month or week? I’d really like to know… Hope everyone has a great week!

Ciao!

Fun, Fried Foods, & The Fair

Greetings Friends!

I know it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve written anything, but now I’m back in full swing! My coding classes are finally over and yarn season is in full swing. You may as well get ready to see some changes to the blog as far as layout & color and lots of posts featuring showing off what I have for sell in My Etsy Shop.  :op
I thought I would share some Fall fun with you today! Two weekends ago, The Boo and I went to the Gwinnett County Fair! I probably haven’t been to any fair since I was in high school, so I was uber excited and it felt like I was 10 yrs old all over again. Just walking up to the entrance you could smell the beer, cotton candy, and everything fried that you could imagine, including fried ice cream and even fried Snickers! I wasn’t concerned with any of those though, because I was on a very specific food mission…. All I wanted was a corndog and the ever delicious funnel cake!!! Yas!

There were throngs of people there, including the usual suspects of rude jubilant teenagers, excited kids begging to ride the roller coaster or go through the haunted house, the older couples with no kids who stroll slowly holding hands and looking in love, and of course the fast talking workers tempting you with games that are ‘easy’ to win and food that will satisfy the soul!

There were even competitions and ribbons for best livestock, food, and even artwork! The biggest shocker of all was that there was a real live beauty pageant that went out on girls of all ages. We didn't get to see those, but I saw a few winners walking around all make-up'd and stashed.

Once it had started to become dusk, even more people started showing up and the lines for rides like the ferris wheel started getting longer and longer. I’m sure it was a beautiful sight seeing all the action and lights of the games and other rides from atop the ferris wheel once it was truly dark.

Before we left we had a rainbow spotting too! Excuse my friggin finger in the way of the camera. Ugh.. :)

It was a really beautiful day and we both had a lot of fun. What activities are you doing to start Fall off with a bang?

Ciao!

Happy Labor Day to all of us in the US. I for one am grateful for the additional day off from work. I used to hate working on Labor Day, because it defeated the purpose of even having a Labor Day to celebrate. I digress though.. lol. I'll be taking this time to take advantage of all the free time I have to clean house and crochet. What are you planning to do today?

Last week was pretty busy for me, so no posts got written. Let's talk about the past couples of weeks wishes, shall we?

Last Weeks Wishes

Better Attitude towards class - I did better this time around than I did before. We are now into building our own projects and that's rather exciting. Only 3 more weeks left and then I'm on my own for good or worse.

Crochet! Crochet! Crochet! - I did work on a few more projects and I'm starting a new one right now. I'm not following a pattern and I'm just kind of winging it, because I'm making something for myself that's experimental. I'm excited to see the results when I'm done. I'll take pictures of course. :)

Clean Up My Etsy Shop - I didn't really get to clean it up like I wanted to. I did take away a few things, and I've taken pix of new products to list. Now it's just listing them and doing promo.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Weeks Wishes
Promote Etsy Shop - I've done a little bit so far, but now I want to go full swing. I need to re-activate my EtsyFu. If you are a seller and like to promote on Twitter then using EtsyFu is an awesome tool to use. It will tweet all of your shop or just certain sections for your shop for you and will spread out the tweets anywhere from one hour to eight hours between each tweet. I love it! Takes all the manual labor out of promoting things yourself.
* Write My Own Code - This is a very ambitious task. In class we are doing group projects and so I may or may not have to write any code, but I think I'd like to try my hand at it. I may succeed at it or I may not. The point is, that I will have tried.
Those mosdef are enough for this week! I also kinda have a secret project of sorts going on too.  More about that much later though. :) Here's hoping you have a great week!
Ciao!
The Sunday Short
Salutations Friends!
It's early Sunday morning (yes the clock says 6:42 am) and I have no clue as to why I'm up so early. You would think that your body knows it's the weekend and therefore would say, 'Okay everyone. Let's make sure we take advantage of sleeping in today.' Since me and my organs are up, we figured why not say good morning, so....
Good morning dear friend! How are you?
Let's see now.. Today shall consist of warm delicious tea being sipped and enjoyed slowly, writing some more blog posts, editing pictures for Etsy (which hopefully won't take forever and a day!), and of course working on a new crochet project which I am highly excited about!! #Canwesaysupergeeked It will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing to look at. :)
What is your day looking like?
