Fun, Fried Foods, & The Fair

Greetings Friends!

I know it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve written anything, but now I’m back in full swing! My coding classes are finally over and yarn season is in full swing. You may as well get ready to see some changes to the blog as far as layout & color and lots of posts featuring showing off what I have for sell in My Etsy Shop.  :op
I thought I would share some Fall fun with you today! Two weekends ago, The Boo and I went to the Gwinnett County Fair! I probably haven’t been to any fair since I was in high school, so I was uber excited and it felt like I was 10 yrs old all over again. Just walking up to the entrance you could smell the beer, cotton candy, and everything fried that you could imagine, including fried ice cream and even fried Snickers! I wasn’t concerned with any of those though, because I was on a very specific food mission…. All I wanted was a corndog and the ever delicious funnel cake!!! Yas!

There were throngs of people there, including the usual suspects of rude jubilant teenagers, excited kids begging to ride the roller coaster or go through the haunted house, the older couples with no kids who stroll slowly holding hands and looking in love, and of course the fast talking workers tempting you with games that are ‘easy’ to win and food that will satisfy the soul!

There were even competitions and ribbons for best livestock, food, and even artwork! The biggest shocker of all was that there was a real live beauty pageant that went out on girls of all ages. We didn't get to see those, but I saw a few winners walking around all make-up'd and stashed.

Once it had started to become dusk, even more people started showing up and the lines for rides like the ferris wheel started getting longer and longer. I’m sure it was a beautiful sight seeing all the action and lights of the games and other rides from atop the ferris wheel once it was truly dark.

Before we left we had a rainbow spotting too! Excuse my friggin finger in the way of the camera. Ugh.. :)

It was a really beautiful day and we both had a lot of fun. What activities are you doing to start Fall off with a bang?

Ciao!

Happy Labor Day to all of us in the US. I for one am grateful for the additional day off from work. I used to hate working on Labor Day, because it defeated the purpose of even having a Labor Day to celebrate. I digress though.. lol. I'll be taking this time to take advantage of all the free time I have to clean house and crochet. What are you planning to do today?

Last week was pretty busy for me, so no posts got written. Let's talk about the past couples of weeks wishes, shall we?

Last Weeks Wishes

Better Attitude towards class - I did better this time around than I did before. We are now into building our own projects and that's rather exciting. Only 3 more weeks left and then I'm on my own for good or worse.

Crochet! Crochet! Crochet! - I did work on a few more projects and I'm starting a new one right now. I'm not following a pattern and I'm just kind of winging it, because I'm making something for myself that's experimental. I'm excited to see the results when I'm done. I'll take pictures of course. :)

Clean Up My Etsy Shop - I didn't really get to clean it up like I wanted to. I did take away a few things, and I've taken pix of new products to list. Now it's just listing them and doing promo.

This Weeks Wishes

Promote Etsy Shop - I've done a little bit so far, but now I want to go full swing. I need to re-activate my EtsyFu. If you are a seller and like to promote on Twitter then using EtsyFu is an awesome tool to use. It will tweet all of your shop or just certain sections for your shop for you and will spread out the tweets anywhere from one hour to eight hours between each tweet. I love it! Takes all the manual labor out of promoting things yourself.

* Write My Own Code - This is a very ambitious task. In class we are doing group projects and so I may or may not have to write any code, but I think I'd like to try my hand at it. I may succeed at it or I may not. The point is, that I will have tried.

Those mosdef are enough for this week! I also kinda have a secret project of sorts going on too.  More about that much later though. :) Here's hoping you have a great week!

Ciao!
