November Goals

 Greetings Friends!

Its that time again for weekly wishes/monthly goals! Did you set any goals for last week/month? If so, how did they go? Are you just joining me? Let me explain what happens for Weekly Wishes..

The Happenings: You share your weekly, monthly, or yearly goals/wishes/achievements and you get to be a part of this big group of people that are doing the same thing. Yay! Wanna join in? Check out The Nectar Collective and add a link to your blog!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a whole lot of fun driving around the track of the Atlanta Motor Speedway! It was my video game racing dreams come true. To be honest I was little nervous driving a car that almost had 500 horsepower, but I knew I could handle it. I think The Boo wax actually quite proud of my driving skills. More about this on another post!

Other than that I just went to the movies to see John Wick. While I love me some Keanu Reeves, I just have to say that I was bored to tears with this one. Very little storyline and lots of effortless killing. So if you like that then go see it. If not don't waste your time. (Or money...) talk about last week's wishes!

Last Weeks Wishes

  •        While I did stay up a few times last week I did feel like I went to bed on time for the most part. I was still dumb tired because I was dreaming all night, most nights. However I did catch up on my sleep over the weekend. So yay me!

  •        My main concentration last week was to do some crochet every day. I couldn't do it every day but I did catch up on a lot of it on Halloween night! The Boo and I sat around and watched scary movies all night. :) Never thought Cabin in the Woods would have the twist that it did...

This Months Goals

  • Dude.... I seriously need to get to posting new items in my Etsy shop. As soon as I publish this I will probably power post new items. I was supposed to get all this done last month and it just never happened. It’s November now and I needs to get crackin’!

  • I want to exercise at least 3 times a week every week this month. I think it would be a good idea to up my steps on the daily too. I’m doing around 3000+ right now, but I want to up that to 4000+ by doing more walking on my breaks at work.

  • I’ve been working on a baby blanket for a while now and I’d like to finish it up by the end of the month, so that I can start on the next project. It’s not due until January, but I’d like to get it done early!

Ciao!

Happy Monday all! My weekend was Pretty lax. I did a lot of studying for my class this evening (eek) and went to go see the movie 'Lucy'. The movie was pretty awesome and I highly recommend seeing it. As for the studying, I will more than likely see coding in my sleep. Take right now for instance.. I can't help but wonder if I'm coding something correctly (although I'm just talking to you) when I'm using " ", ==, ( ), and +. So how did your weekend go? Did you do anything exciting and fun? Let's talk about last Weeks Wishes.

Last Weeks Wishes

Acclimate to the Mac - I've been getting better and better at stuff as I go. I've finally figured out how to hide the doc at the bottom, set a new wallpaper, figured out how to change between all of my open windows, put it to sleep, and the shortcut commands for copy and paste! By no means am I a pro yet, but I'm on my way. It's really weird trying to do certain things, because I'm used to doing things on a PC, but it's all good. Oh, and Thank Gawd for Google, because I find anything I have a question about how to do from there, which most of the time leads me to YouTube. #success

* Eat Healthier Food Options - Welllllllllll, this didn't happen as much as I would've liked, but I did try. That's all that's important, right? Right? I did cook a healthy stir-fry last night. That's something. :) We'll talk about that in another post though.

Use the Singing Bowl - I forgot to mention that I did a little shopping over the weekend! I went into this metaphysical store called Synchronicity that I hadn't been in for a long time. It was actually the first metaphysical store I had ever been in, because one of my former co-workers introduced me to it. Anyway, I saw some Tibetan singing bowls (used in meditation) in there and one of the ladies who worked in there showed me how they work. Then I got a free demonstration from a guy that uses them for healing and massage. It was So.Freaking.Awesome. I've always been curious about them and so I'm glad that I had the opportunity to finally buy one.

* Eat.Sleep.Drink.Coding - Maybe by the time you read this I will be in class meeting new people and learning all kinds of stuff. I really want to learn a lot and do as well I can, so that means setting aside time everyday to study. I need to be about my business so that I can move onwards and upwards! Wish me luck and of course I'll tell you all about my adventures. :)

Alright peeps, it's gonna be another short-ish week of wishes for me. Although, these two wishes/goals will involve a lot of time and effort. What your goals for this week?

Ciao!

Today and this week are off to a very good start! I feel inspired, motivated, and full of love. I feel like big changes are coming in my life and I'm very excited about them. More on that in a different post. Let's talk about Last Weeks Wishes, shall we?
Last Weeks Wishes
* Make a trip to Goodwill - I haven't actually gone to Goodwill yet, but I have collected up a few things that I'm willing to part with.

* Care Packaging - I haven't gotten this sent off yet or even gotten everything that I want to get, but I do have a list of what I need and I have all of the packing supplies. At least half the battle is done!
* Go to Bed on Time - To be honest with you, I don't even remember if I did it or not! I think I may have... but I really don't know. I was so tired last week and for some reason I kept having nightmares and waking up in the middle of the night. At least I got rest over the weekend.
This Weeks Wishes
* Post-It - Can I admit something? Half the time, I forget what my weekly wishes are and then I will remember them halfway through the day and be like, 'Oh yeah!! I was supposed to _____'. I can't do anything about it at the time, because I'm always at work. To remedy this, I'm going to start writing them down, that way it's in front of me all the time.
* Birthday Plans - I want to sit down and really think about what I want to do on my birthday on this upcoming 29th. Whoop! Whoop! I never... ever... everevereverever work on my birthday if I don't have to. So I have some planning to do. :)
* Write - I should really just stop being scared and just write some more on my book! It's just the first draft anyway. I think the intimidating part is thinking about someone reading and critiquing it. The thing is... I don't have to let anyone read it just yet, do I? The problem is, I also like feedback. Must.Push.Through.
Okay, that's it kiddies. Share with me what your wishes or goals are this week!
Ciao!!

This week has been a very busy one for me at work and at home! Monday was just bonkers, but in a good way. :) I've been pretty determined to get more healthy after I had my Week of Being a Vegetarian. It's like after that week, everything about what I need to do has been put into perspective! So far, I've been killing the water and getting in my 8 glasses a day and I haven't had any fast food. Yay, for me! :) No fast food is a really big feat. Let's talk about last weeks wishes.
Last Weeks Wishes
* Start the Purge Process - Let's say that I got halfway on this one. I ended up putting some shoes on eBay! It seems to me that it's going to take a long time for stuff to sell. At least shoes anyway. I know I'm very leery about buying shoes online whether it's eBay or DSW! Maybe I can do better with purses?
* Revamp the Blog - Yeah well... As you can see this didn't get done, but I still plan on making some changes. Do you have a site you like to use for templates?
* Weight Train & Exercise - I didn't do as much as I wanted to, but now I'm on the right track! I've really been working it out this week so far. I'm hoping that between the workouts and the water intake I will start to see improvements soon.

This Weeks Wishes
* Make a Trip to Goodwill - There are some things that just won't sell on eBay, and I'm not that girl that can just throw my clothes and once beloved treasures in the trash. So it's off to Goodwill I go! I need to clear out a lot of shirts I'm not wearing anymore and some shoes I'm still delusional about keeping. You know the ones.. It's those shoes that are really ridiculously cute and you love love love, but they hurt like all get out, and every time you think about wearing them, you can't fathom the thought of having them on for more than a couple hours. Yeah... those shoes.
 * Care Packaging - My bestie just had surgery and is cooped up in the house for a while. I thought it would be nice to send her a care package full of fun things to do and play with. My mother & I have co-consipirated in the makings of said package, so I hope it will turn out well! I was actually inspired by the gift swap I did a while back.

* Go to Bed on Time - As of late I've been staying up when trying to watch TV and/or finish doing something when I know I should be in the bed. I've gotta get some rest dude. I just must!

Alright friends, that's it for me. I hate that I'm posting this as late as Thursday, but what can you do? Share with me what you accomplished so far this week or what you're still working on!

Ciao!

What do You Want to be When You Grown Up?

Greetings...

As of late, I've been really thinking about what it is that I'd like to do with my life and what I'd like to accomplish. When you're a kid, people always ask you what you want to be when you grow up. I've known since I was five that I wanted to be an artist. It was always my first love. I was good at it, it made me feel great, and it was fun.
I didn't understand at the time why I would always get that funny look from adults when I said I wanted to be an artist or have a job in a creative field. While they would gush all over my peers for wanting to be lawyers or doctors, I was left standing there baffled as to why they weren't excited for me too! I understand now that I would get those looks, because in their head they were saying "You poor delusional child. You will never make any money doing that. You need a 'real job' dear."
Not being interested in anything else I decided to follow my dreams and I set out to be an art major in college and earned my degree. Now I am a paper pusher by day and an all around creative artist person by night, because let's face the facts: Everyone needs a steady paycheck.

When you're in school and have the opportunity to do internships, that's great and gives you a leg up. But what about the adults wanting to make a career change and pursue what they really love? How do you break into the game?

________________________________

The question that I pose to you dear friends is: Do you think it's better to train/go to school for something that will make you money and you will possibly hate......?

 Or
Pursue something you love and are passionate about, with the possibility of not making much money at it??

_________________________

Some people argue that you should go for the career that makes you money, because more than likely you'll hate your job anyway. They figure if you couldn't make money as let's say a singer, then you'll have to have a job nevertheless. May as well be one that pays well.

The other side of this is why not pursue what you love? I don't know about you, but if I was doing what I loved, I wouldn't mind working 24/7 to get the job done!

Are you doing what you love? Did you pursue something you never liked, but it pays well? Share your opinion and your story! I'm curious. ;o)

Ciao!
