Weekend Rambles

Greetings Friends!
Are you just joining for Weekend Rambles? I like to think of this as a non-judgment, free flowng thought kind of space. I'm curious about and welcome your rambles and thoughts for today. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow, I can't believe it's been this long since my last post! In my defense I was on vacation and my birthday did just pass. :) While I was away I got to visit with lot's of family, make biscuits with my Mom, do some touristy stuff around Atlanta, go to my favorite restaurant, and of course because I'm a yarn addict, I bought more yarn and hooks for new projects! Yay! It's been a good week. So let's ramble about some stuff, yeah?
* I really love when I get a new book and finish in like, three days because it's just that damn good! I just finished reading Decadence, by Eric Jerome Dickey, who happens to be my favorite authors and he did not disappoint. I aspire to write as well as him one day. :)
* Am I the only one that forgets to take stuff to the post office to ship? I've been trying to ship something off for what feels like weeks now and just haven't done it yet. I think part of it, is that I really don't like going to the post office. The employees always seem to be having a bad day, (in spite of this I still try to be friendly), the lines are long and it takes forever for one person to wrap up there time at the counter, and quite often there seems to be some unwritten rule that I didn't know about which forces me to get out of line and start all over again after correcting the problem. Ugh.. Going to the bank garners the same experience.
* Have you ever used dictionary.com? I love their Word of The Day! Check it out here. I'm totally going to start using this word in everyday life. Ha Ha!
* Often times I wonder if the people who read blogs are just other bloggers. I follow quite a few blogs, but I feel like that's because I like to read in general. Sometimes, I check out the people who leave comments on blog posts that I've read and they're all bloggers. Don't you know that I talked to one somebody at my job and I had to explain what a blog was was!?! I assumed everyone knew what they were by now. Guess I was wrong. :o/
* Breakfast is the best meal of the day in my opinion. It has the most fun and tasty foods. You might happen upon weird and totally gross foods for lunch and dinner.... but breakfast keeps it's simple and yummy, no? It's always strange to me when I run across people that don't.like.breakfast. You mean to tell me that you don't appreciate a nice warm biscuit, slathered in butter, with jam smeared on it? Come on! :)
* Do you ever feel the need to be creative or you'll just explode? Sometimes when I get this way I'll start to feel anxious and this nervous energy feeling will just be rumbling around in me until I go write, crochet, draw, or paint.
Okay friends, that is it for today! Do you have a Rambles post too? Leave your link in the comments below. Happy Sunday all!
Ciao!
The Saturday Short
Greetings!
It all started with a rolling pin. My mom gave me a pre-birthday gift last night, which just so happened to be said rolling pin. I'm at home for the weekend and staying with The Rents'.
Mom and I had baking fun this morning. Lots of flour everywhere was involved. Laughter was had.  Biscuits were made. And love was dashed in too.
Take a look!
What are you up to today? What was for breakfast?
Ciao!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Salutations and Happy Monday! I'm super excited to get through this week, because on Friday I'm flying the coop and heading on home to Tennessee! Not only will it be to celebrate Memorial Day weekend, but I will also be attending a wedding, and will be having a pre-birthday celebration with the fam! Good times, I tell ya! How was last week for you? Mine was pretty stellar! Let's chat about last weeks wishes, shall we?

Last Weeks Wishes

 * Write Down Wishes - Ding! Ding! Totally did this one and it made all the difference in the world as far as helping me get my wishes accomplished. I wrote them down on a Post-It and smacked it down on my desk at work, so that I'd have to see it everyday. Mary Jane (from Being Mary Jane) may have been on to something, with this whole let's-use-a-bunch-of-Post-It's-to-write-stuff-down-on kinda thing. I must say that I've never much had a need for Post-It's, but I'm thinking that I will start to use them more. Do you like Post-It's too?

* Making Birthday Plans - I actually sat down and thought about what it is that I would like to do. I talked about it here. Since it would be two weekends in a row that I would travel, I'm thinking that having a birthday in town will do me just fine. :)
* Write! Write! Write! - After what has probably been many months (eek!) of avoiding sitting down and writing, I let it tumble out and I wrote. It was no easy feat at first. I was just kind of blank and intimidated. But after a few minutes an idea formed, words came, my fingers started to move over the keyboard, and a new chapter was born. Yay! Now that I've written, it just makes me want to write more.

This Weeks Wishes
* Meditate Daily - I was in the habit of meditating not so long ago and then I just edged it out because 'I didn't have time'. But just like eating healthy is important, so is mental health. I have the feeling that I'm going to need the discipline it provides in the near future. Plus it helps with stress and just all around feels good. I like listening to music while I meditate. Do you have any music that you like and would recommend?
* Implement Yoga - I.Love.Yoga. There is just something about yoga that I can't explain that helps me feel at peace. After your done, you feel all sweaty and tired, but there is a beautiful serenity that comes with it as well. I'm geeked about a new app I've just downloaded called Daily Yoga. It takes you through a workout showing you positions with video, it talks you through it, and it plays music. Can you say, supa dope?
* Finish The Body Book! (for real this time) - I've talked before about The Body Book here. I'm really close to the end now and I really need to finish it up before I leave town, because I will be passing it on to my dear mother. I thought the end might be boring and filled with fluff, but no! I'm still learning and it really is a complete guide to taking care of your body and explaining why you eat the way you do, and how to correct it. BAM! Please go buy it if you haven't already!
Already lovelies... tell me all about you goals and wishes for this week. As for me, I'm off to do some meditating and some yoga, but I'll be back soon!
Ciao!

Birthday Adventures!

Greetings!

What are you up to today? Perhaps like me, you are at work and taking a lunch break or maybe you’re working from home, or yet still maybe you’re homeschooling your kids. Either way, welcome! I have been diligently working on this week’s Weekly Wishes and today’s post is about #3, which is making birthday plans!

Often times over the years, since my birthday falls close to and sometimes is on Memorial Day, it has been spent traveling and visiting family. I was always made to feel special on my birthday with a cake baked (yellow cake with chocolate frosting of course), presents given, and the birthday song sung throughout the month by my parents. As of late though, I’ve been taking considerable thought into what I’d really like to do. When I turned 30, the Rent’s came down to visit and spent a couple days with me going around to all the spots I’d been wanting to go to.

The following year, I decided that I wanted to hop on a plane and visit one of my BFF’s and her husband and have a real gown-up birthday filled with exciting new foods, shopping, dancing, and all types of drunken fun times! See my 31 Pearls of Wisdom.

Last year The Boo and I spent what seemed like every waking minute at the movies, when we didn’t go to Medieval Times, the Georgia Aquarium, and weren’t indulging in fancy restaurants.

This year since I love to travel, I was thinking of making it a beach birthday! I’ve heard a lot of good things about Destin, FL. Maybe also going to Savannah, GA and visiting the beach at Tybee Island. I’ll probably consult with Bing since they have a lot of travel info and tips. The other thought is just staying in town and being a tourist here. Maybe go and ride the Skyview ferris wheel downtown or maybe dress up and go see a play? The possibilities are endless!

What say you? Got any suggestions for me? Let me know!

Ciao!

It Was Almost a Hulk Out Moment..

Greetings peeps!

You ever been driving home minding your own damn business, waiting in line (a long line at that) so that you can go on through the green light to the next few blocks of freedom, when some dumb dumb decides to cut you off and jump ahead of you in line and almost cause an accident?

Yep.

That happened just no more than 30 min ago. Me being well...... me... I sped up when I saw what this ass clown was doing to try and squeeze her out and to stop her from cutting in front of me. Let's just be honest here for a moment shall we? It's one thing to LET someone in front of you in traffic. It's a whole other story when someone says, 'Say man... since I can tell that you're a driver that doesn't like to tailgate, let me go ahead and bogard my raggedy ass car in this non-existent space, because I'm too important and don't have time to wait in line like the rest of you. Oh and nevermind the small child that's in my backseat without a seat belt on. I don't care about her well being anyway.'

Really? So not kool. Oh it called for a total Hulk Out Moment. What is the that, you ask? It's that moment when you're so pissy hot that you pretty much black out and proceed to beat someone down and/or mess with them until they cry and scream in fear that their life here on earth has come to a close. Instead of actually acting on my rage I let my imagine run forth wild, where when we make it through the light I cut her off and once we are on a two lane road I drive so incredibly slow that she gets mad enough to try and pass me, but then I speed up so that she cant and once she is forced to get back behind me because of on coming traffic I slow back down to aggravate her some more and then I speed on while laughing once I'm done with her. Bwahahaha!

Anyhoo, in other news my birthday is next week on the 29th!! Happy Birthday to ME and all GEMINI'S! I'm excited to be hanging out all around town, having fun, enjoying delicious foods, seeing good movies, and finally going to the GA aquarium! Have a slice of spice cake with butter cream icing on me. :)

***Peace***

Things I Love Thursday... 31 Pearls of Wisdom

Greetings all,

As of the 29th of May, I am officially 31 years young. I have found that a lot of my peers, whether they have a spouse and/or kids or not all seem to feel old. There's only 2 words to describe how I feel about being old at the age of 31... Plain and simple.

1) Fuck
2) that

 I feel more alive and young now than I did when I was 21. I see being in my 30's as a true and awesome blessing. Being a teenager is all about being awkward, because you are finding out who you want to be. Your 20's are for making smart & not so smart decisions and living with the fallout on the road to becoming who you will ultimately will be. However your 30's are for being comfortable in your own skin and liking who you are, because with the living you've done up to this point, you have a sure opinion about what you like, what you don't like, & the things you absolutely won't put up with. I think your 30's are the start of the coast of life.. 40 is where you really get a good stride though, and are able to look back on the things that hopefully you are proud of.

I felt that it was appropriate for the 31st of May, that I share 31 things with you that I'm sure of..

31) Family is important. I find myself appreciating my parents more now than I ever have and I know their love has no bounds.

30) Revenge is not for you to handle. Whatever you put out into this world good or bad, will always return to you. Let whatever higher power you believe in deal with people who bring negativity to your life and always.. and I mean always try to be your best possible self.

29) It's okay and important to be an individual and be different. Although sometimes it's a very lonely road, at some point, you will find your tribe and connect with other 'weirdos' that are just like you. I've been an odd bird all my life, and I've come to realize we have more fun than people who just follow the crowd, because we are free to actually be ourselves.

28) Never stop learning and growing. There's a big world to explore that has great people, rich cultures, and lots of love to share. Don't limit yourself by living in a box.

27) You are never really alone. As human beings, we are all connected in some form or fashion. There IS someone else that knows what your going through.

26) If you like yourself... others will too. Be your own biggest fan.  Nuff said.

25) You must forgive. Forgiving doesn't mean that you are forgetting how someone has wronged you. Forgiveness means that you accept the past for what it is and understand that you can't change it. Holding a grudge only hurts you.... The person who did you wrong as moved on and so should you.

24) Women: Just because you can fit into it...... doesn't mean you should wear it. And I'm dead serious.
Men: Despite what you think. It is very important that you put lotion on your feet if your gonna run around in sandals all day. No one likes to see crust flaking off your foot.

23) When your feeling low, it's best to be kind to yourself.

22) Self preservation is a must. Just because you don't feel like listening to your friends rant on and on and on and on and on again about the same 'problem' you've talked about for the past month, doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you a smart person. Be a good friend, but get off the damn phone already and take care of yourself first.

21) Doing something nice for yourself isn't selfish. It just falls under self preservation.

20) Trust your gut. It won't lead you in the wrong direction.

19) Advice...... When giving: only give if it is asked. No one likes a pushy advice giver, especially if they're saying 'I told you so'. When receiving: make sure the person your asking doesn't have a history of blowing everything out of proportion. Just because they went through something similar.... doesn't mean that you will be scarred for life like they apparently were.

18) Choose your battles wisely. Without a doubt stand up for yourself. However, everything doesn't have to be an argument and you don't always have to have the last word. Is it really that important??

17) Depression and sadness is a fickle and tricky thing to tango with. People will only climb out of that hole when they are ready to heal themselves.

16) Living by yourself is a glorious and magical wonder.

15) Journaling is the absolute best thing ever to get your feelings out of your head before it explodes.

14) Although I enjoy the occasional application of lipstick and eyeshadow, I think that society has put us in a trickbag to make us think that we need to wear a full on face of makeup at all times. You are beautiful as you are!! Your flaws make you uniquely you.

13) When it comes to relationships... if you're not happy, get out of it. Period.

12) When people hate on you and don't like you for no apparent reason at all, they are afraid of you. They can't define you into a nice neat little box. Pay them no mind and do you all day long!

11) Sometimes when people are nice to you, it's simply just that. Them being nice. Enjoy it.

10) Reading books isn't for nerds. They can take you to far away places you've never dreamed of and expose you to things you wouldn't have otherwise had any knowledge about.

9) Don't apologize for who you are. Everyone isn't gonna like you.

8) You are most definitely only as old as you feel.

7) Religion: everyone has their own beliefs or non-beliefs. Respect others and let them be.

6) As you get older, true friends are hard to come by. If you are fortunate enough to have best friends, let them know you appreciate them.

5) There is always a plan. You are where you are supposed to be.

4) No matter how hard and scary it may be, try to let your inner light shine. Don't be afraid to take a risk and be great.

3) You learn much more than you expect when you just stay quiet and listen instead of talking so much.

2) At some point in your life, you have to stop caring about what other people think about you. Who cares if Sally down the street thinks you dress like a clown and Shawn at the office says your too quiet. You know the truth about you and you're pretty damn awesome!

1) I promise it really is okay to turn up the music really loud in the car while you're driving and sing at the top your lungs and chair dance at the same time, while people are looking at you. They secretly want to do the same thing... They're just too embarrassed. JUST DO IT!

So there you have it folks. Pearls and words of wisdom from yours truly. What do you know for sure?

*//Peace\\*

The Note After the Party

Hey Everybody,

So I'm finally in Tennessee chillin at my parents house. It's been a really good weekend so far. I actually woke up at 4:30am after going to bed at 1am and felt wide awake.. Why? idk, but my Dad happened to be up too and we proceeded to have a 2 hr long conversation about everything and nothing at all. It was awesome. And then we both passed out on the couches in the living room. And let me tell you couch sleep is some if the best sleep!!

I went to see one of my best friends after I had a great breakfast. Breakfast is the best meal especially when you don't have to cook it, when it reminds you of your childhood, and most importantly you don't have to clean the dishes afterwards. (Although, being a house guest it is polite to offer) I didn't realize how much I missed being around my best friends or hanging out with friends in general. Why don't I hang out with friends? That's another thread for later.

So we went to my Granddaddy's birthday get together at this eatery called the Catfish House. I really REALLY don't like catfish, but luckily for me they had chicken. yay! So the food was great and I got stuffed. I was reeeeeally stuffed, although I'm a little hungry right now. I'm so having a midnight snack after I get finished with this. Yummy!

So we (Me, Beloved, Mom & Dad) get back to the house and we see that there is a huge branch that has fallen from the tree in front of my parents condo and as we approach we see leaves and wood imbedded into my mothers car! Imbedded!!!!!!!!!!!! So oddly & surprisingly nicely enough there was a note taped to the front door from one if the neighbors saying that he had removed the branch from the car and that there was damage to the windshield wiper. :::Sad face::: But at least no major damage was done, like a broken window or something like that.

So it was a good day with an odd end, but still a good time was had with a lot of pictures, smiles, and Granddaddy was surprised and happy. Ok, that's all.

Ciao
