I hope everyone has had a great start to their week! I've just been busy crocheting up a storm over the weekend and enjoying the crisp air and sunshine. I've gotten a request to make a pink and gray baby blanket as well as some booties and a hat to match. I've started with the blanket, because it takes the longest to do.

It's gonna be a sweet little blanket! Probably the most favorite thing I've made. So on with the show!  Last week, I shared with you some of my goals for October as a fresh start to weekly wishes, so let's start fresh with wishes for this week as well.

This Weeks Wishes

  • With my hand willing, I really want to work on the baby blanket a little bit everyday. More than likely I'll get most of the work done while I'm on break at work. I'm totally that chick that crochets in the car. ;o) Hmm... maybe I'll pick up an audio book from the library to enhance the fun.
  • I have finally written down a schedule for meals and prepping and I'm going to try really hard to stick to it. I've been wanting to do this for a while now and have just been dragging my ass! Writing it all down and having a visual helps me stay focused, so at least half the battle is done. :)
  • I really want to exercise at least four times this week. I've come to realize that even though I don't like to exercise, my body does... It's a win-win really.. I feel good about myself and my body stops aching from inactivity. Haazaa!

Three is generally my limit.. It is only a week after all! :o)  So what have you been up to? What are your goals for this week?

Ciao!

Last Weeks Wishes

1. Exercise! (yes again!) - I did it!! I worked out three times this week and now I feel sore, shaky, and it hard to walk down stairs. Who am I kidding... it's hard to walk at all!! Lol.
It's a good thing though. :)

2. Spring Clean - This was halfway done. I got something's cleaned and others are still seeking attention. I'll give this one another go.

3. Letter writing - started writing a letter that I haven't finished yet. Maybe I'll get to it this evening?

This Weeks Wishes

1. I still want to exercise, clean, & finish my letters and all that jazz, so let's just roll this into one.

2. Prepare my lunches the night before - It will just make life a lot more simple in the mornings if I do this. I absolutely hate being late for work, so this will minimize rushing.(which I don't like either)

3. Cut out fast food - In order to lose the 10 lbs I want by the end of the month I can't eat this stuff. To be honest, the fast food restaurants near me aren't very good, so no point in wasting money that way.

So that's it kiddies! What are your wishes for this week?

Last Weeks Wishes
*Exercise - Yeah well... does doing a lot of walking at a car show count? If not then I didn't get this one accomplished. :op
*Finish my crochet kerchief project - Er... Nope.
*Do some writing on the book - I'm ashamed to say no!!
(hangs head) I have no idea what I was doing all last week! Lol. I'm sure whatever it was I thought I was busy and it was important, but now it's time to start again.
Sooooooo...
This Weeks Wishes
1. Okay.. I know it's been on there for the past three weeks, but I'm throwing exercise back on the list! This will fall under one of my previous wishes to practice good time management. Even if I have to secretly do twenty jumping jacks in the bathroom stall at work I'm getting some kinda exercise in this week!!
2. Spring clean - I don't know why, but when Spring does finally roll around I get the urge to clean clean clean! So the plan is to pick one thing everyday and just go balls to the wall at it. Maybe today I'll tackle the bathroom? Get rid of products I don't need, dust, & general cleaning.
3. I have a few letters I need to write that I've procrastinated on. It's time to get those written and done.

April Monthly Goals/Wishes
1. I really want to get back to regular meditation and journaling. It helps me to deal with stress and keeps me focused. I want to make it a daily practice. I plan to interchange what I'm doing every other day. If I start out meditating on my Monday, then I'll journal on Tuesday and so forth and so on.
2. I'd really reeeeeally like to drop about 10 lbs this month. That will get me back into wonderland (i.e. the 100's) and I will feel like I've accomplished something really big, because... it's a big deal.
3. Re-Connect with my friends. Sometimes life gets busy and it's easier just to check to see what's going on with people through Facebook or Twitter. I want to actually call my friends and say hello and maybe send them something nice in the mail to let them know I'm thinking about them and that I care.
****

I hope everyone is having a lovely Monday! I'm determined to get a lot of work done today and really get some things accomplished. So that's it for now. Tell me what's going on with you. Do you have some goals for April?

Ciao!

Last Weeks Wishes
So last week (and the week before) I said that I wanted to accomplish putting pencil to sketch book and actually drawing something. Well it actually happened! I suppose I was preoccupied and in a creative open-minded place while I was watching Oprah's Lifeclass. Something just told me to go grab my sketch book and start drawing. I drew what I always enjoy drawing which are faces. Maybe it will turn into a series? The world may never know.

The other wish I had was to pay more attention to time management. I totally killed this one and I feel like I got everything done that I wanted to do. I'm two for two this week!
I was also semi working on exercise, because who isn't ever working on that? I made the initiative to go for a walk on the trail nearby. Actually did four miles too! Felt good afterwards except for the big blister that was on my foot. Nothing that a little soak in hot water and Epsom salt couldn't cure though. :)
This Weeks Wishes!
1. Yeah well I guess exercise is still on the list. Meh..
2. As long as my hands aren't yelling at me, I'd like to finish my crochet project that I started 2 weeks prior.
3. Attempt to write some more on the book. I must simply get over this hump I seem to have hit in the story!

Well that's it for now lovely friends. How was your week?

Ciao!

Keep on Trucking

Greetings,

In an effort to stay healthy, I decided to go ahead and make my banana muffins this evening. It's really just banana bread put into muffin tins. I think muffins are waaaaay more fun that bread, but that's just me. And now that I think about it, they are easier to tote around as a snack too. I think they came out okay. I tried a few new ingredients to make it more healthy, but still tasty.

Here is the rundown on the particulars that when into this creation:
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup of sugar (normally I'd use 1 cup)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 very ripe bananas (normally I like them to be overly ripe. I'm talking about lots of brown spots and softness. They are more sweet like that, but I was impatient!!)
  • 1/2 cup organic apple sauce, no sugar added (to keep it extra moist)
  • pinch of salt
  • a couple of teaspoons of Cinnamon
  • 2 cups of wheat flour (sifted)

They actually turned out pretty tasty. I got a little worried when I was mixing everything, because the batter was very dry when I used the wheat flour. (It was the 1st time I've used any) But adding the apple sauce helped a lot. They smelled absolutely wonderful while they were baking. The only thing that I think was strange after they were finished was that they didn't rise very much. I'm thinking that it was from the wheat flour, but I'm not sure. From the picture I know that they probably look like cookies, but I assure you that they are indeed muffins! lol.

I'm sad to report that I have gained back all 4lbs that I had lost, but it's a new week and a new day. I'm not going to beat myself up about it. It's just time to start over and use this as motivation. I did actually workout tonight for about 25 mins to the P90X video. It will seriously kick your butt! It's really fun though. Me and Beloved made a commitment to workout every day this week after I get off work, so that should be kool. Well it's past my bedtime.

Ciao!

It's a Battle

As I have stated a few posts back, I challenged my besties to a 'Biggest Loser' (to be cliche) competition. I think it's been a slow start for all of us. I decided to take a pause for the cause and look back at what's working, what's not, and what is it that I need to be doing better.
Idk why, but I always seems to either do good with my eating habits or with my amount of exercise. Recently I've been concentrating more on the exercise and not so much on the food.. and it's definitely showing. The scale's saying I'm gaining back the weight I lost, but I don't feel like I am. My clothes are still fitting well and feeling more comfortable. I think what I'm going to do is concentrate more on my food intake for the next couple of days. Not to say that I'm not going to still workout I just want to get myself back on track with my eating.
So I had a breakfast of champions, while my Beloved had some freakin pancakes with gobs and gobs of syrup! What do we have here in the picture?
  • Watermelon (seedless)
  • oatmeal (no butter or sugar added)
  • half a banana sliced
It was surprisingly filling and it hit the spot. My other meals weren't the best, but they weren't horrible either. I have read a host of books that say that their way is best to lose weight, its fast, it's easy, blah blah blah. Everyone has a different theory, so who's is right? Here's mine.. if you have a balanced diet, like going back to the food pyramid and you eat small meals throughout the day then you'd be eating healthy and boosting your metabolism, therefore causing normal weight loss as long as your including exercise and lots of water. We shall see.
